In a highly successful event, on Feb. 6 2024, the VMHS JROTC community gathered at Raising to enjoy delicious food and excellent company. The cadets orchestrated a fundraiser that received overwhelming support from students, parents and locals.

The total amount raised during the Raising Cane’s fundraiser reached an impressive $430.This exceeded expectations, highlighting the strong commitment of the VMHS community to the JROTC cause. In addition, two generous gift baskets from Cane’s, each valued at $150, boosted the community spirit. 

The fundraiser’s success aligned seamlessly with the JROTC’s overarching goals, not only in raising funds but also in raising awareness of the JROTC program and its mission. The dedicated cadets showcased how a simple mention at the register could turn a love for chicken into tangible support for their activities.

Looking forward, exciting plans are underway to continue collaborating with Raising Cane’s Chicken. The positive outcome has opened doors for future partnerships and similar fundraisers. The VMHS JROTC is devoted to exploring opportunities with local businesses to support their initiatives and ensure ongoing program success.

With funds surpassing initial expectations, the JROTC is thrilled to announce enhancements to this year’s Military Ball on March 23, 2024. Thanks to the community’s active involvement, the program will host the ball at a prestigious country club, providing the perfect setting for a formal event and enhancing the cadets’ experience.

The country club’s atmosphere will contribute to the military ball beyond just dressing up, creating an ambiance conducive to appreciating formal dining and etiquette. The JROTC is dedicated to ensuring that every dollar donated by Raising Cane and the community significantly contributes to curating a truly memorable and meaningful experience for the cadets. The Military Ball is poised to be a grand celebration, made possible by the generous support of the VMHS community.
