Patriots closeout winter with the first winter semi-formal

The VMHS senior class is proud to announce the first-ever Winter Semi-Formal in the cafeteria on Feb. 24.

Tickets go on sale Feb. 15 and 500 will be available to all grade levels during all lunches. Tickets will start at $20 and increase to $25 the following week.

The theme will be A Night of Romance, with different aspects from Valentine’s Day, using red and pink colors. The senior class has been planning this for a while and contemplating other ways to change the layout, decorations, and music for a better experience.

“I wanted a lot of things to be different, so we’re changing where the DJ is and the courtyard will be open,” Richard Lujan, the senior class president explained, “It will be more accessible and arranged a lot differently, but I think it will be refreshing since a lot of the semi-formals have had the same layout.”

The senior class is using this dance as an opportunity for fundraising. The junior class will be selling snacks in the courtyard as well as STUCO, BPA and CFA academy.

All money raised will go towards senior events. Lujan implied they’re planning a big senior surprise for the end of the year. Yearbook will be sponsoring the photo booth to capture the special night. They will have a heart-filled background for pictures with friends or dates. Myschoolbucks will have an option to pre-order photo packages starting Feb.14. Prices are based on package orders; Package A will include two 5×7 prints and a digital image for $15, Package B contains two 8×10 prints and a digital image for $25.

Make sure to purchase tickets before the dance because there will be no at-door sales. Students must provide their ticket and student identification to get in.
