Cupid Treats the Patriots with a Sweet Surprise

A sweet cheerleading fundraiser!

This year, the VMHS cheerleading team presents “Cupid’s Treats.” Cupid’s Treats is an exciting fundraising activity for the cheerleaders to raise enough money to put towards their end-of-the-year costs and art costumes for the glow-in-the-dark parade, all while spreading love.

“I hope this will raise sufficient funds for the cheer team. This is a good idea because it’s a simplistic way to express care for people while supporting the team,” said Jasmine Connelly, a junior varsity cheerleader.

Posters have already been placed around the school with a QR code to pre-order. On Friday, Feb. 9, orders will be taken during all lunches and paid with cash. Students can purchase macarons, cookies, mini cupcakes, brownies and rice krispies treats. Each treat costs two dollars, although you can buy a bundle box that includes two of each treat for 15 dollars. Macarons vary in flavors, consisting of strawberry cheesecake, birthday cake and cinnamon toast crunch, while cupcakes come in vanilla or chocolate. A special surprise can be added, such as a note for a friend, teacher or significant other, while remaining anonymous if preferred. These treats will be delivered during school on Wednesday, Feb. 14, during the fifth period.

“I plan on getting my boyfriend goodies and spreading positivity by getting a couple of friends something as well. This is a really good idea as it spreads joy in the school.” Emma Forrest, Junior Varsity cheerleader, stated.

All in all, this event is a sweet treat with cherries on top because everyone involved benefits not only themselves but also the school. Below is the QR code to access a form to pre-order.
